The GBPUSD technical analysis of the price chart on 1-hour timeframe shows GBPUSD,H1 is retracing down under the 200-period moving average MA(200) after rebounding to test the MA(200) yesterday. We believe the bearish movement will continue after the price breaches below the lower bound of the Donchian channel at 1.22057. A level below this can be used as an entry point for placing a pending order to sell. The stop loss can be placed above 1.22469. After placing the order, the stop loss is to be moved to the next fractal high indicator, following Parabolic signals. Thus, we are changing the expected profit/loss ratio to the breakeven point. If the price meets the stop loss level without reaching the order, we recommend cancelling the order: the market has undergone internal changes which were not taken into account.

UK’s consumer inflation slowed in December. Will the GBPUSD price retreating resume?
UK’s consumer inflation was slower than expected in December: the Office for National Statistics reported the Consumer Prices Index grew at the rate of 2.5% over year in December after 2.6% growth in November when no change in the rate of inflation was expected. The largest downward contribution to the CPI annual rate came from restaurants and hotels, with the largest upward contribution coming from transport. Core CPI, which excludes energy, food, alcohol and tobacco, rose by 3.2% in the 12 months to December, down from 3.5% in November. Slower than expected UK consumer prices inflation is bearish for Pound and GBPUSD currency pair.
